Conservation Reserve Program Grass Assistance
In 2016, a partnership was formed with the Coal Creek Chapter of Pheasants Forever to rent their tractor, drill, and trailer. With these tools we help coordinate seed purchases, site preparation, and planting of warm and cool season grasses from the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). We have partnered with New Ross Grain to help obtain seed mixes that will meet the requirements of the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) as well as the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA).

Our goal in 2018 was to seed around 300 acres as we had done in 2016. We more than doubled our goal! We were also fortunate enough to have a local producer secure a larger drill to allow for larger acreage to be planted more efficiently!
